Come face-to-face with tennis champion and now poker ambassador, Boris Becker, in partypoker’s Beat the Ace Promotion.
The former world no.1 has become the latest celebrity to endorse top poker room, partypoker and to celebrate the site is offering a tennis-themed promotion. Running until January 6, players can participate by completing four missions which will earn tickets to the four $5000 freerolls. The overall winner will then take on the six-time Grand Slam champion live in Germany and potentially pocket up to $25,000.
The missions and their corresponding Freeroll dates include;
- Make a deposit, eliminate another player in a Sit & Go game, and play 50 Sit & Go hands for entry into the January 7 Freeroll
- Play five Sit & Go HERO hands, eliminate another player and win a Sit & Go HERO tournament for entry into the January 8 Freeroll
- Play 100 fastforward hands, win one fastfoward hand, and double up in a single fastforward hand for entry into the January 14 Freeroll
- Play 10 Sit & Go HERO hands, 10 fastforward hands, and 10 cash game hands on a mobile device for entry into the January 15 Freeroll
The player who performs the best in all four freerolls will come face to face with the German tennis star, who has $100,000 in live earnings and claims he isn’t soft competition.
“I am equally competitive at the poker table as I was on the tennis court, so I’m really excited to be partnering with partypoker and taking on players around the world,” Becker said.
“I learnt to play poker a long time ago; it’s a game of skill and perseverance, so I’m hoping to use my experience on the tennis court to my advantage.”
Group Head at partypoker, Tom Waters, backs Becker’s level of skill at the poker tables.
“It’s great to have Boris on board, as he is one of Germany’s, and indeed the world’s most notable sportsmen,” he said.
“Boris’ mental strength and desire to win will make him a tough competitor at the poker table, and I’m sure he’ll test our players as part of the partypoker Tennis Missions promotion!”
Celebrity endorsement isn’t a new thing when it comes to online poker rooms, but partypoker have some of the most interesting names behind their brand with the recent sponsorship of Australian poker star, Jackier Glazier. The two year contract with Glazier, who has over $1.3 million in live earnings, will see her playing online with weekly home games streamed on partypokertv.
“I am proud to join the partypoker team of ambassadors and am extremely excited about the opportunities I see for us in Australia and surrounding territories,” Glazier said.
I have been closely monitoring the progress partypoker has been making over recent months and look forward to helping them to grow in the Australian market that I know so well.”
She will also take part in the MILLIONS at Dusk Till Dawn, alongside Becker in April 2017.
“Partypoker has some world class tournaments coming up and I look forward to playing online as well as live at the partypoker MILLIONS in April, so see you there,” Becker said.
